VISION of the project

Our vision for this virtual pen pal experience originated from our need to communicate during these isolating times. In the beginning of lockdown there was an increase of arts industry panel events chatting about mental health, general reflection and how the industry has changed. Since then, these conversations have become more common. For example, in the theatre industry professionals are hosting panels for theatre students from multiple institutions to learn and ask questions about the industry they are about to embark on once they graduate.

Through our app the user, a student from an art program be it fine arts, photography or other arts program, would be able to network and connect with other artists and industry professionals. This platform would allow the user to exchange knowledge and create a collaborative opportunity once paired. They gain access to an exchange of knowledge; skill accumulation; networking expansion; collaborative opportunities; and possible friendship through a shared human interaction.
